June 3, 2002, at Computex in Taipei, IVT
demonstrates Bluetooth PAN Network Access Point (NAP) reference
design. It is a turnkey solution ready for production. IVT PAN NAP
features fast internet and LAN Access without cables through a
Bluetooth connection. Up to seven Bluetooth-enabled devices can
simultaneously synchronize with an ISP and LAN client-server
applications at speeds of up to 723 kbps. IVT's PAN NAP design and
available production unit is remotely upgradeable through flash
memory and is 1/5 the size of other access points. IVT PAN NAP is
easy to use with very little TCP/IP configuration required. As
compared to all other access points on the market, this device is
simply the easiest, most user-friendly Bluetooth device on the
market.
Several possible usage scenarios make this access point
extremely cost-effective. For example, several PCs can share a
single high-speed ADSL or satellite connection at home or in the
office. IVT Bluetooth PAN access point is also a much more
affordable and much simple solution for the home or office than
those provided by Bluetooth LAN access point or IEEE 802.11b
access points.
IVT also demonstrates on its latest Bluetooth Windows Software
Suite BlueSoleil, which also supports the Bluetooth PAN profile
and allows several notebooks to form a personal ad-hoc networking
with the IVT PAN NAP.
IVT Bluetooth PAN NAP is a fully packaged OEM option requiring
only "look and feel" details. "This provides manufacturers who
want to get products to market as soon as possible, a simple and
low cost alternative to other expensive options that would
ultimately delay time to market. Units can be produced by
manufacturers in a matter of a few weeks," said Dr. Qiang Gao, CEO
of IVT.
