seconds the first time using My Bluetooth?

the PAN profile will try to configure the network settings. It will
take about 40 second. This situation will also occur if users change
the local Bluetooth device.
|
|
|

device information?
Right click my device -> Select
Propertiesˇ. In the My Bluetooth Device dialog
box, there are device name, device address, device manufacturer,
device HCI and LMP (Link Manager Protocol) versions and
editions.
|
|
|

Can't find the remote device
you want?
- Check whether the remote device is in discoverable mode.
If
the remote device is set to non-discoverable, other devices cannot
find it.
- Check whether the remote device is within the radio
range.
Bluetooth devices have 3 classes. Class 1 devices are
high power devices. Their transmission ranges are 50 to 100
meters. Class 2 and class 3 devices are low power devices. Their
transmission range are 10-20 meters.
- If you still cannot find the remote device, you can:
(1)
Find the device from the history list, so that you can add it
directly to the orbit. Find the tool from Tools | Add Device
from Historyˇ. (2) If the device is not in the history
list, you can also add a new device directly by inputting the
remote device address. Find the tool from Tools | Add New
Deviceˇ.

|
|
Can't find the remote device
services?
- Verify whether the remote device is within the radio range.
- Verify that whether the remote device is in connectable mode.
If the remote device is set to non-connectable, other devices
cannot connect to it, and service cannot be found.
- Check whether the remote device has connections
already.
Currently, some Bluetooth devices do not support
scatter net. That is, the device has limitations in supporting
connection among multi-devices at the same time. It is recommended
that users try to connect point to point if the connection cannot
be set up.
- Verify whether both sides have input the right Bluetooth
passkey if any side is at security level High.
The Bluetooth
passkey must be the same at both sides. If both sides have set
Fixed Passkey (the default passkey) and the passkeys are
different, the connection cannot be set up with the authentication
failure error.
|
|
|
How Bluetooth passkey works?
If I change the fixed passkey, will it affect the paired
devices?
Bluetooth passkey is used in authentication
procedure for Bluetooth security purpose. When remote device
connects to your computer, he has to offer the same Bluetooth
passkey as what you input. If the Bluetooth passkeys from two sides
are same, connection can be setup. A paired relationship is
established on both sides. There is no need to input passkey for the
next time of connection. Any side can delete the paired
relationship. Changing fixed passkey will not affect the existed
paired relationship.
|
|
|
How to stop the paired device
accessing my services any more?
- Delete the paired relationship by deleting the device in the
Pairing Property sheet in the Security Configuration
dialog box.
- Change the fixed passkey if you use fixed passkey option, so
that he cannot pair with your computer again.
|
|
|
When I set security level to
High, the Bluetooth Passkey Input dialog often comes out when other
people browse my computer, how can I avoid that?
Use fixed passkey to avoid it.
|
|
|
How to protect my services
from other's unauthorized usage?
- Set Security Level to High.
- Do not start the services you are not using.
- If you start PAN or LAP service, do not share your important
folders in the windows explorer. When other Bluetooth computers
connect to your computer via PAN or LAP, your shared windows
folder will be able to be accessed to other computers.
|
|
|
How to share my folders to
other computers?
- Using PAN and LAP profile
When other computers connect to
you computer via PAN or LAP, your shared folders in windows
explorer can be accessed by other computers in the windows My
Network Places.
- Using FTP profile
Share your folder via your FTP service to
other Bluetooth devices. Service Configuration | File
Transfer property page ->Share this
Folder.

How to verify whether my
computer is connected to network and what is my IP address?
When connecting using PAN and LAP, If you are able
to see the IP address in the status bar of BlueSoleil, it at least
indicate the client and server is trying to connect with each other.
However, you can use some network command such as Ping to verify the
validation of IP address.

|
|
How to use BlueSoleil to
access Internet?
There are several ways to access Internet using
BlueSoleil:
- DUN profile: You can access Internet via Bluetooth mobile
phone.

|
|
How to share my Internet
connection to other computers via Bluetooth?
If you use PAN service to access Internet, you can
use Internet Connection Sharing(ICS). On the other hand, you can
use LAP to access Internet.
However, for the reason of technical, it cannot support a
computer to be a "TCP/IP Gateway" with PAN whose IP address is
"192.168.0.x" now. We will solve this problem in the next version.
For your convenience, please use some Internet Connection Sharing
(ICS) software such as "Winroute Pro", "Sygate", "BlueNAT" and
"Internet Gateway 6.0" to solve this problem.
|
|
|
How much incoming connections
can my services support?
If you use PAN profile, BlueSoleil can support 7
connections at the same time. For other profiles, only one
connection can you have at one time. Moreover, you can start one
connection for each profile at one time.
|
|
|
Why my PAN service is stopped
automatically?
We can only act as one of the role of PAN client or
server at the same time. Therefore, when you connect other PAN
service and your PAN service will be stopped
automatically.
|
|
|
Why my PAN, LAP or FTP data
transfer rate is slow?
There are mainly two factors for this problem.
Firstly, the distance of two Bluetooth devices can affect the data
transfer rate. Secondly, the quality of USB dongle is also a factor.
Moreover, the disturbing of other devices may be a factor. Please
see the RSSI for more details.
|
|
|
What should I do if it is
slow to use the explorer to browse neighbor computers on Windows
98/SE?
We found this case in some user's computer. Instead,
you can use other Bluetooth profiles such as LAP and SPP to meet
your requirement.
