IVT BlueSoleil-PTS Frequently Asked Questions |
|
|
Why BlueSoleil-PTS cannot connect
with SUT (LAP server) successfully when it acts as the DT?
This may be caused due to the following: 1. The
Bluetooth USB hardware device is not working properly. Solution: Configure the Bluetooth hardware
device for BlueSoleil-PTS and restart it, refer to IVT BlueSoleil-PTS
Getting Start 2 - C Start & GUI Overview, Page4.
2. If
the Trace information of BlueSoleil-PTS shows "Failed to find the entry
on the", the reason may be the Direct Cable Connection you have made
is still associated with other COM port rather than the one
BlueSoleil-PTS specified and required. Solution: Go to Windows menu Start |
Settings | Network and Dial-up Connections | Direct Connection |
Properties, in General page select the 'Communications cable
between two computers (COM7)' in the < Select a device:
> list box, and click OK. Refer to IVT BlueSoleil-PTS
Getting Start 9 - LAP Interoperability Test, Page12.
3. If
the Bluetooth connection can be established but the PPP connection
cannot, the reason may be the Windows PPP Connection did not in the
correct status, this is a bug in Windows 2000. Solution: You can wait a moment and then start
the test case again. If the problem still exists, please restart the
computer and run this testing again though IVT does not prompt user
for reboot.

Why BlueSoleil-PTS cannot start
the DUN service and displays " No physical Modem is detected, please
install modem" ?
For the testing of DUN DT, the BlueSoleil-PTS acts as
the GW, and a physical modem is needed for the BlueSoleil-PTS to
implement the dial-up functions. During the starting of BlueSoleil-PTS,
the modem selected previously will be selected by BlueSoleil-PTS to use,
and BlueSoleil-PTS will detect the modem then. If BlueSoleil-PTS cannot get
proper response from the modem, this problem will occur. This may
be caused due to the following: 1. No physical modem is installed
on the OS. Solution: Prepare a
physical modem and install it on the OS, then use BlueSoleil-PTS's menu
command Tools | Dial-up Networking Profile | Select Modem to
update BlueSoleil-PTS's modem information.
2. During the starting
of OS, the physical modem is power off, so the system cannot detect
the modem. Solution: If the modem is
already installed on the OS, directly power on the modem and use
BlueSoleil-PTS's menu command Tools | Dial-up Networking Profile |
Select Modem to update BlueSoleil-PTS's modem information. It will be
OK.

Why after I selected a modem
from the modem list and press OK, an error message was popped up and
the selection failed? This occurs when I use BlueSoleil-PTS's menu
command Tools | Dial-up Networking Profile | Select Modem.
For the testing of DUN DT, the BlueSoleil-PTS acts as
the GW, a physical modem is needed for the BlueSoleil-PTS to implement
the dial-up functions. The menu command Tools | Dial-up
Networking Profile | Select Modem is used for user to specify
the working modem used for BlueSoleil-PTS. When starting the BlueSoleil-PTS,
if the modem is not ready, BlueSoleil-PTS will not work, user should use
this command to inform the BlueSoleil-PTS after the modem is ready. If
user wants to change the modem used for BlueSoleil-PTS, this command
also can be used. If this problem occurs, first of all, user
should make the physical modem ready. If the modem is ready and
the problem still exists, it may be caused due to the
following: 1. The error message is "the specific com port cannot
be opened " , it is due to the modem being used by another program,
such as a dial-up connection or an incoming connection. Solution: Please check all dial-up connections
of OS in Start | Settings | Network and Dial-up Connections. If
there is an active dial-up connection that is using the physical
modem, user should disconnect the connection. If there is no active
dial-up connection, user should pay attention to the incoming
connections. If the incoming connection monitors the physical modem,
uncheck the physical modem. This can be done by right clicking the
incoming connection, and from the pop-up menu selecting
Properties. In the Properties dialog, there is a modem
list, if the physical modem is checked, uncheck it.
2. The
error message is "no response for AT command is received" , it is
due to the selected modem not present or it is not a physical
modem. Solution: If the selected modem
is a physical modem, please check the modem is powered on and the
data line between the modem and the computer is OK. If the selected
modem is not a physical modem, selecting the physical modem will be
OK.

Why SUT cannot connect with
BlueSoleil-PTS (LAP server) successfully when it is the DT?
This may be caused due to the following: 1. When
starting the Windows PPP server was needed, you did not check the
COM port BlueSoleil-PTS specified as the device on which the incoming
connection is allowed. Solution: Go
to Windows menu Start | Settings | Network and Dial-up
Connections | Incoming Connections | Properties, in
General page check the box of 'Communications cable between
two computers (COM8)', and click OK. Refer to IVT BlueSoleil-PTS Getting
Start 9 - C LAP Interoperability Test, Page17-18.
2. You may
forget to uncheck the box of 'Communications cable between two
computers (COM8)' in the Win2000 Incoming Connections
Properties window at the end of last test case run. Solution: In the Incoming Connections
Properties window, uncheck the box of COM8 and click the
OK. Then enter the Incoming Connections Properties
window and check the box of COM8 again when needed, and click
OK.
3. If the SUT is not the only one DT to connect
with BlueSoleil-PTS, the BlueSoleil-PTS should be installed and run on
Windows 2000 Server since the Windows 2000 Professional does
not support multiple PPP links! Denmark and Norway in the 10th
century. By given this name to the emerging wireless technology, it
is shown that the goal of the new technology is to unify the telecom
and computing industries.

Why BlueSoleil-PTS can't find the
service of the SUT when it acts as the DT?
This may be caused due to the following: 1. You
did not select or input the Bluetooth Device Address of SUT on
BlueSoleil-PTS before the start of the testing. Solution: Before the start of a test case, go
to the menu Tools | Select or Input IUT on the GUI of
BlueSoleil-PTS to inquire the Bluetooth devices nearby and then select
the device of SUT, refer to IVT BlueSoleil-PTS Getting Start 2 - C Start
& GUI Overview, Page5.
